Random Thoughts

  • What does it mean about my character that I am kinda upset that Rock of Love II is over?

  • Why is my Son obsessed with colleting the helicopter leaves that fall from trees and keeping them in buckets?

Help!!

The last 2 posts I have posted have gotten spammed. I can't figure out how to delete the comments, but I have enabled the 'I get to preview and decide if the post goes up first' ability.

So, my blogging friends: has this ever happened to you? I feel like my email box is now ringing with telemarketers instead of my phone!

Spring Is Springing

The one thing I absolutely love about winter is wearing turtlenecks, sweatshirts and sweatpants. I find them to be the most comfortable clothing in the world - even more so than PJ's.

Yet, yesterday it hit 70 degrees. Definitely too warm for winter attire. But it was OK. I"m ready to pack those winter clothes up until next winter.

My New Checking Account

Something I don't talk much about here is my own business that I recently started. I came up with a plan, a title and got it LLC'd, created a website and have been slowly advertising. That was pretty cool. But this past month I got my first check from my first client.

That meant I finally got around to opening a checking account for the business. I did that today.

I was not expecting the feeling I experienced while sitting there, signing the papers, and handing over that first check to be deposited. Then she asked me what I wanted my PIN to be. And it occured to me.

This really is real. And what a great feeling it is.

Toothpaste

Did you know that toothpaste has an expiration date? I did not. We ran out of toothpaste. I found a tube in the linen closet to hold us over till I got to Coscto. But, it expired 2 years ago. When did toothpaste start expiring?

Haiku Friday

While working today
A great topic came to me.
I'll wait till I'm home.

Now I'm back at home.
And now I can't remember
The topic to write.

So, instead you get
This little haiku about
My forgetful mind.

A Day Off

Holiday season brings out the stress in adults. But it also brings out the stress in children. They just manifest it differently. Son has been handling the holiday activities pretty well this year. But he is more rigid and is stemming more. We're back to written schedules and LOTS of advanced warnings.

Yesterday we went down to see Hubby's grandmother and a good friend of our family. Son did great in the car ride (about 2 hours), the visits, and the ride back. But, we got in late. Real late. And he was really tired this morning. So I let him stay home today. In this county every Monday is an early release day anyways.

He slept in a little. He played some Play Station. I made him (ie: cooked something) breakfast. We did his homework and worked on his science project and a reading project. And he's back to chilling in front of the TV.

Sometimes you just need a day to chill. A day to relax. A day to forget all the craziness of the holiday schedule and excitement.
